RCMP apprehend three more Impaired Drivers over Easter weekend

Thursday evening RCMP arrested a 21 year old Antigonish County man for driving with a blood alcohol ratio of over 80 milligrams. The man was held in custody overnight and released in the morning with a court date of June 20, 2012 to answer to the charge.

In the early morning hours of Monday April 8th, police were called when a 26 year old Antigonish man struck a parked vehicle on Greening Drive then left the scene. Police located the vehicle on Highland Drive and arrested the driver for impaired driving. The man was held in custody over night and released on a court date of May 30, 2012. He faces charges of impaired driving, driving with a blood alcohol ratio of over 80 milligrams and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.

Early this morning police were called to a collision in Lower South River near Taylor’s Road where a truck was rolled off the Trans Canada Highway. A 15 year old youth arrested in relation to this crash. He will face charges of impaired driving and theft a motor vehicle. He is currently in custody, a court date has not been determined.

Antigonish RCMP have apprehended four impaired drivers so far in April.
