RCMP and EHS respond to school bus collision in Antigonish

ANTIGONISH, NS, May 3, 2016 . . . RCMP and EHS responded to collision involving a school bus and a vehicle at the intersection of Highland Drive and Greening Drive, Antigonish, NS.

At 8:21 AM, RCMP received a 911 call from the Strait Regional School Board reporting the collision and further indicating that the school bus was occupied with students.

RCMP, EHS and School Board Officials responded to the scene of the collision and determined there were no injuries. Investigation revealed the driver of the seconde vehicle did not have a valid driver’s license, failed to comply with restrictions of a learner driver and failed to yield to the school bus.

The 23 year old Antigonish male was issued a number of “Summary Offence Tickets” associated to the incident.

School Board Officials are in the process of notifying parents of the students involved in the collision.
