Public Notices: Winter Parking Ban in Effect

TOWN OF ANTIGONISH

Because of the pending weather over the next few days the Winter Parking Ban in the Town of Antigonish will be back into effect, effective 11:59 p.m. this evening (Friday January 6th) and will remain in effect until further notice. This ban prohibits motorists from parking on any town street or town owned parking lot between the hours of 12 midnight and 7:00 a.m.. The Town of Antigonish thanks motorists in advance for their cooperation during this time.

COUNTY OF ANTIGONISH

The Municipality of the County of Antigonish wishes to advise that from December 1, 2016 to April 15, 2017, Winter Parking Regulations will be in effect for roads and streets under its jurisdiction.  During this period, parking of vehicles on County owned streets and roads between 12:01 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. is restricted.

Section 139 of the Motor Vehicle Act for the Province of Nova Scotia prohibits vehicles from obstructing snow removal or any other winter maintenance that may be necessary.  The Act also allows for such vehicles to be removed  at the owners expense.
