Antigonish RCMP seek public assistance related to mischief

April 26, 2012, Antigonish, Nova Scotia…Antigonish RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance related to incidents of mischief in the area.

Since April 24th, 2012, stop signs, parking signs and manhole covers have been removed in the area of Highland Drive, Greening Drive and Bantry Lane.

Removing street signs or manhole covers pose a serious threat to public safety as a vehicle or pedestrian encountering one of these situations could result in injury or worse.

These offences are punishable by the Criminal Code. Anyone with information on the person(s) responsible are asked to contact the Antigonish RCMP Detachment at 863-6500, Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS ( 8477 ), texting TIP202 + your message to “CRIMES” (274637) or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca . Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash reward from $50 – $2000.
