Antigonish RCMP arrest Impaired Drivers after Collisions

Antigonish RCMP arrested two impaired drivers over the last two nights following collisions. Wednesday night police received a report of a vehicle off the road on highway 4 near Afton. Police attended and arrested a 55 year old Antigonish County man for impaired driving. The man was taken into custody and escorted to the RCMP detachment to provide samples of her breath. He was held in custody overnight and released this morning on charges of impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mgs. He will be in court on May 20th, 2015 for plea.

Early Thursday morning police received a report that a vehicle had struck a set of traffic lights and left the scene travelling toward New Glasgow. Police located the vehicle and arrested a 22 year old Truro man for impaired driving. He was escorted to the RCMP detachment to provide samples of his breath. He was held in custody overnight and was later released on charges of impaired driving, driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mgs and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He will be in court on May 20th, 2015 for plea.
