Antigonish RCMP apprehend Impaired Driver over the weekend

A 43 year old Antigonish County man was arrested for impaired driving Friday night at a checkpoint on highway 4 near Afton. The man was escorted to the RCMP detachment to provide samples of his breath. He faces charges of impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mgs/100 ml of blood. He will appear in court on August 19th, 2015.

This is the fifth impaired driver apprehended in Antigonish County in the month of June.

As well, a 31 year old Paq’tnkek man was arrested for breaching a conditional sentence order. He remains in custody and will appear in Provincial Court this morning.
