Antigonish RCMP apprehend Impaired Driver Over the weekend

Antigonish RCMP arrested a 38 year old Antigonish man early Sunday morning for impaired driving after he failed a roadside screening device. The man was escorted to the RCMP detachment where he provided samples of breath leading to charges of operating a motor while impaired and operating with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mgs. The man will appear in court on January 9, 2013 to answer to the charges.

A 65 year old Hants County man faces charges of driving while prohibited after he was stopped on highway 104 near Heatherton. He was released from custody with a court date of January 9, 2013.

Police responded to 46 calls for service over the long weekend and lodged six people in custody three of which were for drunk in public.
