Antigonish Man Faces Charges of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

A 25 year old Antigonish man was arrested early Saturday morning after he crashed his car on highway 337 near the St. Martha’s Hospital entrance. A police officer observed the car traveling at a high rate of speed on Main Street near Columbus Field and then crash shortly after. The man attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by police. The man faces charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, impaired driving, refusing to provide a breath sample, resist arrest, breach of probation, possession of a controlled substance and taking a motor vehicle without consent. He will appear in Provincial Court on December 19, 2012 for plea.
