Antigonish RCMP investigate Two Vehicle Crash at Construction Site

Antigonish RCMP responded to a two vehicle crash late yesterday afternoon at approximately 5 pm on highway 104 at exit 38 in Havre Boucher. Preliminary investigation determined a vehicle was stopped in a construction zone when it was struck by a another vehicle which then struck a flag man. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle that was struck and the flag man were taken to St. Martha’s Hospital where they were treated and released.

The driver of the second vehicle a 20 year old Port Hawkesbury man was arrested at the scene for impaired driving. He is facing charges of Failing to Drive or Operate a Motor Vehicle in a Careful and Prudent Manner and Illegal Possession of Liquor. The man’s driver’s licence was also suspended for 7 days for driving with a blood alcohol concentration between 50 and 80 mgs. The matter is still under investigation.
