Antigonish RCMP Investigate Suspicious Fires

On the evening of Friday, March 9th, 2012, at approximately 9:30pm Antigonish RCMP responded to a structure fire on the #7 Highway in Purlbrook. The structure was an unoccupied for the past ten years.

On Saturday March 10th, 2012 Antigonish RCMP responded to a structure fire in South Side Harbour. Upon arrival two barns on the property were fully engulfed in fire. Both barns and their contents were a total loss. The Pomquet Fire Department with assistance of the St. Andrews Fire Department and the Antigonish County Fire Department extinguished the blaze. The fire is considered suspicious in nature and remaines under investigation by the Antigonish County RCMP.

Sunday night March 11, 2012 RCMP responded to another fire in Brierly Brook in the general area of the School Road. The structure was a trailer / mini-home and currently under renovation.
