Antigonish RCMP arrest Impaired Drivers over the weekend

RCMP arrested a 47 year old Antigonish man Saturday afternoon after he left the scene of an accident at a local grocery store parking lot. He was escorted to the RCMP detachment where he provided samples of his breath. He was held in custody and later released on a Promise to Appear in Provincial Court on October 1, 2014. He faces charges of impaired driving, driver with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mgs and leaving the scene of an accident.

Later Saturday evening police arrested a 36 year old Antigonish County man for impaired driving on Taylor’s Road in Pomquet. He was escorted to the RCMP detachment to provide samples of breath. He was held in custody overnight and released this morning on charges of impaired driving, driver with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mgs.

He will appear in Provincial Court on September 24, 2014.

Police also lodged four people in cells for being drunk in public.
