Antigonish RCMP apprehend two Impaired Drivers over the weekend and issue multiple Liquor tickets

Police arrested a 42 year old Havre Boucher man Friday night after he attempted to evade a police checkpoint in the community. He faces charges of impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mgs/100 ml of blood. He will appear in court on November 25, 2015.

A 21 year old Antigonish man was arrested for impaired driving early Saturday morning after he was stopped by police on Fairview Street. He faces charges of impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mgs/100 ml of blood. He will appear in court on November 25, 2015.

Police issued twenty-seven (27) Liquor Control Act tickets with fines of $467.50. All subjects charged ranged in from 18-21 years of age. Twelve (12) people were lodged in cells.

Police have issued (38) Liquor Control Act tickets in September all but two (2) were for open liquor in public.
