Antigonish RCMP apprehend Two Impaired Drivers over the weekend

Antigonish RCMP arrested a 32 year old Port Hawkesbury man Friday afternoon after he was involved in a single vehicle collision on Trinity Lane in Antigonish. The man failed an approved screening device test at the scene and subsequently escorted to the detachment to provide further samples. He faces charges of impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mgs/100 ml of blood. He was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of December 18, 2013.

A (21) year old Antigonish woman was arrested early Saturday morning after she was stopped by police on the old highway 104 near Beech Hill. She was escorted to the RCMP detachment to provide breath samples. She faces charges of impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mgs/100 ml of blood. She was released the following morning on a Promise to Appear with a court date of January 15th, 2013.

Police responded to five (5) Noise complaints of loud parties over the weekend. One summary offence ticket was issued to residents of house on Church Street.

Police lodged eight people in cells over the weekend.
