Antigonish RCMP apprehend Two Impaired Drivers over the weekend

Antigonish RCMP arrested a 18 year Antigonish man early Saturday morning for impaired driving after he was stopped on Church Street. The man failed a roadside screening device and was escorted to the RCMP detachment where he provided samples of breath leading to charges of operating a motor vehicle while having a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mgs and impaired driving. The man was held overnight and released later on Sunday on a court date of March 27, 2013 to answer to the charges.

Police arrested a second impaired driver early Sunday morning. A 29 year old Antigonish County man was arrested after he was stopped on highway 104 for speeding. The man was escorted to the RCMP detachment where he provided samples of breath leading to charges of operating a motor vehicle while having a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mgs and impaired driving. The man was held overnight and released later on Sunday on a court date of April 3rd, 2013 to answer to the charges.
