4 Drivers Charged for Stunting Since Thursday

On Thursday May 28th, 2015 The RCMP’s Eastern Traffic Services Unit charged a driver with Stunting. The 17 year old female from Antigonish County was stopped by police on Highway 7 in Ashdale, Nova Scotia. The youth was travelling at a rate of speed of 143 km/h in a 90 km/h zone as she was late for school.

On Friday May 29th, 2015, a 17 year old Pictou County male was charged for stunting on Hwy 104 near Westville. The youth was travelling 165km/h in a posted 110km/h zone.

On Saturday, May 30th, 2015, in two adult males, one from Pictou County and the other from Prince Edward Island were charged for stunting following a suspected road rage incident in Telford, Pictou County. One was attempting to pass the other at 172km/h and the other sped up to 158km/h in an attempt to not allow the pass. Both were approaching an unmarked traffic unit from behind and radar readings were obtained from both vehicles. Both were subsequently pulled over and both were charged with stunting.

All drivers face a fine of $2418.00, in addition to a 7 day Suspension of Driving Privileges. The involved vehicles were also towed and seized.
