RCMP Seize Drugs

On December 2nd, 2011, Antigonish RCMP stopped a vehicle on the 104 Highway near Antigonish. Police discovered and seized a quantity of marihuana and cocaine from the vehicle, as well as a large quantity of Canadian currency and a firearm. The 19 year old male driver was arrested and faces charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. Following this arrest, the Antigonish/Guysborough Street Crime Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant on a second vehicle associated to the 19 year old male. The search resulted in the seizure of an additional quantity of marihuana. The investigation is ongoing.
