Antigonish RCMP request public assistance in theft of garden equipment

April 29, 2016, Antigonish, Nova Scotia . . . Antigonish RCMP are investigating the theft of garden equipment in the Sylvan Valley area. Sometime in the past week a red Troy-Bilt garden tiller with a stainless steel mudflap was stolen from a locked shed.

Antigonish RCMP is asking anyone who may have information about these incidents to contact the RCMP non-emergency line at 902-863-6500, Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or by texting TIP202 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637), or by using Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers could qualify for a cash reward of $50 – $2000.

The investigation is ongoing.

Antigonish RCMP request public assistance in vehicle break-ins

April 20, 2016, Antigonish, Nova Scotia . . . Antigonish RCMP have been investigating several thefts from vehicles over the past several months and are requesting public assistance to try to solve them.

Thefts from vehicles have been reported both within the Town of Antigonish and also within Antigonish County. Police are encouraging citizens to contact the local detachment as soon as possible with any information regarding these thefts, including descriptions of people and vehicles involved, and direction of travel. Cpl. Shannon Fear says, “no call is too minor”. The RCMP would like to remind citizens to lock their vehicles and remove all keys and valuables.

Stolen Trailer in Antigonish County . . . . .

Antigonish, Nova Scotia, April 14th, 2016 . . . RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a stolen trailer from Frankville, Antigonish County.
Between April 7th and 10th a home crafted trailer was stolen from a residence in Frankville. The trailer is one of a kind. It is approximately 8′ long and can hold up to 1/4 cord of wood. Photograph is attached.

Single Vehicle Collision

On April 6th at approximately 5:00 pm Antigonish District RCMP responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 7 in Salt Springs, NS in Antigonish County.
The driver of the vehicle was towing a utility trailer. The collision occurred when the vehicle left the road and hit a power pole. The sole occupant and driver of the vehicle, a 66 year old male, was initially trapped in the vehicle and emergency responders were successful in safely removing the driver from the vehicle. The driver was transported to St. Martha’s hospital with minor injuries.
The investigation has determined that alcohol was not a factor.
