Antigonish RCMP would like to warn the public about a scam going on in the area. People are receiving letters in unmarked envelopes with no return address claiming they won money in a sweepstakes. A phony bank cheque is enclosed and people are asked to call a number to have the cheque activated. At that point personal information is being requested. RCMP would like to remind the public not to provide personal or banking information over the telephone and if they receive these types of letters to call the Anti-Fraud Center at 1-888-495-8501—
