Antigonish RCMP positively identify victim

April 30, 2013, Lower South River, Nova Scotia . . . Antigonish RCMP have positively identified the body found yesterday in the Lower South River area of Antigonish County.

On April 29th, 2013, RCMP were called to the scene at approximately 12:00 p.m. after the body of a man was discovered. The victim is a 19-year-old Antigonish County man. RCMP do not suspect foul play at this time. An autopsy is scheduled for later today.

Antigonish RCMP apprehend Impaired Driver over the weekend

Antigonish RCMP arrested a 49 year old Frankville man Saturday night for impaired driving after he drove his car into a ditch near his home. The man faces charges of operating a motor vehicle while having a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit. He will appear in a court date of June 26th, 2013.

Police are also seeking the public’s assistance in locating a stolen vehicle. Antigonish RCMP apprehend an Impaired Driver overnight

Antigonish RCMP arrested a 25 year old Antigonish County man early this morning in Pleasant Valley. The man was held in custody overnight and released this afternoon on charges of impaired driving and refusing to provide a breath sample after a demand by a police officer. He will be appear in Provincial Court on June 19, 2013. This is the fifth impaired driver for the month of April

Antigonish RCMP execute search warrant

On April 20th, 2013, members of the Antigonish/Guysborough Street Crime Enforcement unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Jali Lane, Afton Nova Scotia. Police located and seized a quantity of marihuana, canadian currency and drug trafficking paraphernalia. A 35 year old male was arrested at the residence and faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Antigonish RCMP apprehend Impaired Driver overnight

Antigonish RCMP arrested a 48 year old Antigonish man for impaired driving last night. Police received two calls on the same vehicle of erratic driving on Church and St.Andrews street. Police located the vehicle on highway 104 near Lower South River where the driver was arrested for impaired driving. The man faces charges of operating a motor vehicle while having a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mgs and impaired driving. He was held in custody overnight and released this morning on a court date of May 29th, 2013.

This is the fourth impaired driver apprehended in April.
