Antigonish RCMP charge Antigonish County Woman after striking pedestrians in Crosswalk

Antigonish RCMP were called to a car pedestrian collision at the intersection of College and Pleasant Streets yesterday at approximately 1230 pm. A 38 year old Antigonish County woman was charged with failing to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk after she struck two people as they crossed the street.

The two adults, one male, one female were taken to St. Martha’s hospital where they we treated and released for minor injuries.

On Tuesday December 13th, 2011 at 11:00pm Antigonish RCMP responded to a complaint of a break & enter to MacDonald’s Convenience Store in Saint Andrews, Antigonish County. The suspects gained entry by forcing their way into the closed store. Once inside the suspects stole a quantity of merchandise. Antigonish RCMP are investigating and are interested in hearing from anyone that may have seen any suspicious activity around the store Tuesday night.

Mischief to Property

Sometime in the early morning hours on the 6th of December, a vehicle left the roadway on Gilfoy Way in Williams Point in Antigonish. The vehicle entered a residential property causing major damage. Damages were extensive to the landscaping and are estimated at over 1000$ The matter is currently under investigation.

RCMP apprehend another Impaired Driver

Antigonish RCMP arrested a 23 year old Antigonish County man for impaired driving Saturday night outside a down town bar. The man was taken to the RCMP detachment where he refused to provide samples of his breath. He will in Provincial Court on January 25, 2012 to answer to charges of impaired driving and refusing to provide samples of breath after a demand made by a police officer.

Mischief to Property

Sometime between December 2nd and December 7th, someone attempted to gain entry into a storage area of a residence on Chisholm Street in Antigonish. Minor damage was caused as a result and the matter is currently under investigation. Anyone with infomation is asked to contact RCMP Antigonish detachment.
