Antigonish RCMP have located the female at the Crash Scene

Antigonish RCMP issued a media release earlier this date requesting the public’s assistance in locating a female seen at the fatal crash scene in Tracadie on November 24, 2011. Police wish to advise the this individual has been identified and located.

Antigonish RCMP seek public assistance in recent fatal vehicle crash

November 28, 2011, Antigonish, Nova Scotia . . . Antigonish RCMP are seeking assistance from the public in the recent crash that killed two people.

On November 24, 2011, RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 4, in Tracadie. 16 year-old Kory Mattie of Havre Boucher was pronounced dead at the scene. 17 year-old Nicholas Landry (Nico) of Tracadie was a passenger in Mattie’s vehicle and was transported to St. Martha’s Hospital where he later died.

Police are interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen or happened on the crash shortly afterward. The crash occurred at approximately 3:10 pm. on Highway 4 in Tracadie. Police are particularly interested in speaking with a middle-aged female on scene who talked to the driver of the a white Crown Victoria involved in the crash. The female is described as middle aged with shoulder length blond hair. She was wearing a t-shirt and rubber boots at the time. It is unknown if this person is from the area or was traveling through Antigonish County.

Antigonish RCMP arrest Impaired Driver on Saturday in Monastery

A 67 year old Antigonish man was arrested outside the Liquor store in Monastery Saturday afternoon. Police were in the store investigating another matter when the man walked into the store after having driven his vehicle to the location. The man will be in Provincial Court January 25, 2012 to answer to charges of impaired driving and driver over 80 mgs.

Antigonish RCMP Lay Charges in Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision and Identify Deceased

November 25, 2011, Antigonish, Nova Scotia…Antigonish RCMP have laid charges following a double fatal motor vehicle collision.

Police have charged 30 year-old William Fogarty of Antigonish with two counts of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death.

Yesterday afternoon, RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 4, in Tracadie. Sixteen year-old Kory Mattie of Havre Boucher was pronounced dead at the scene. Seventeen year-old Nicholas Landry (Nico) of Tracadie was a passenger in Mattie’s vehicle and was transported to St. Martha’s Hospital where he later died.

Fogarty remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear in Antigonish Provincial Court on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. The incident remains under police investigation.

Antigonish RCMP Confirm Second Fatality in Motor Vehicle Collision

November 25, 2011, Antigonish, Nova Scotia…The Antigonish RCMP have received notification that a 17 year-old male passenger involved in a motor vehicle collision on November 24, 2011 near Monastery has passed away as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

On November 24, 2011, at 3:09 p.m. RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 4, in Tracadie, Antigonish County, Nova Scotia.

A 16 year-old male driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene. A 17 year-old male passenger was transported to St. Martha’s Hospital however passed away over night.

The male and sole occupant of the second vehicle was transported to St. Martha’s Hospital with minor injuries and has been released.

The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The police investigation is ongoing in an effort to determine the cause of the crash.
