Seniors Safety Programs
The Safety Program was first introduced to the Town & County of Antigonish in 2002. However, due to lack of sustainable funding, the program was forced to cease service to seniors’ after only 12 months.
In 2003, Antigonish Town & County Crime Prevention Association & the Antigonish RCMP District assisted local seniors who wanted the program operational in our communities once again. Thanks to their dedication to rekindle and support the program, they re-launched the Safety Program for the second time on June 23rd, 2003.
Our Seniors’ Safety Program is free to all senior residents of Antigonish Town & County.
It is available to every senior – single, couple, or those living in seniors’ housing or nursing homes. The program is provided in the comfort of their home at their convenience.
